Textile exporters must attach COO
JAKARTA: With the world quota system on textiles and clothing ending on Dec. 31, the government is requiring exporters to attach a Master Bill of Lading (Master B/L) and Certificate of Origin (COO) to all their exported goods starting Jan. 1.
"The Minister of Trade has enacted a decree regulating the administrative aspects of exporting textiles and clothing in the post-quota regime," said the Ministry's director general for foreign trade, Sudar SA, as reported by Antara.
He added that the documents were administrative requirements specified by the World Trade Organization (WTO) after the quota system expired.
The ruling was signed by Minister for Trade Mari E. Pangestu in a Ministerial Decree No. 04/M/Kep/12/2004 on Dec. 28 and has been in effect since Jan. 1. -- JP
