Textile expo at National Museum

JAKARTA: Textile lovers are to be entertained with an event
featuring an exhibition, a seminar, a dance performance and a
fashion show at the National Museum on Jl. Medan Merdeka Barat,
Central Jakarta, on Oct. 19 and Oct. 20.

It will start with a show titled The History of Indonesian
Textile, choreographed by Jay Subiakto and supported by top
fashion designers like Iwan Tirta, Baron & Biyan, Ghea Pangabean,
House of Prajudi, Nelwan Anwar and Asmoro Damais.

Various kinds of traditional and contemporary textiles will be
on display and later donated to the Textile Museum.

There will also be an exhibition on the use of traditional
textiles in table setting.

A talk show featuring Ghea and Iwan Tirta with Dhanny Dahlan
as the moderator and a fashion show, are scheduled for Oct.20.

The event, organized by the traditional textile society,
Wastaprema in celebration of its 25th anniversary, is held in
cooperation with a foundation that focuses on table setting,
Sekar Taji Nusantara. -- JP
