The EPLive 2026 conference will run for two days, featuring leading global cardiac electrophysiology experts. The Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute (TCAI) at St. David’s Medical Center will host the eighth international symposium on complex arrhythmias on 28-29 May 2026. Held biennially since 2012, EPLive is an intensive two-day educational event for doctors, advanced practice nurses, and healthcare professionals interested in treating complex heart arrhythmias—a condition where the heart beats irregularly or abnormally. Live cases will be presented with expert commentary from the advanced Electrophysiology Center at St. David’s Medical Center, serving as the primary teaching method.

‘EPLive 2026 offers a unique opportunity for the global electrophysiology community to come together and engage in direct learning through complex case-based education,’ said Andrea Natale, M.D., F.H.R.S., F.A.C.C., F.E.S.C., Executive Medical Director of TCAI and EPLive Course Director. ‘By combining live procedures showcasing the most innovative advancements in the field with expert discussions, we provide a highly practical and impactful experience that professionals can immediately apply in daily practice to improve patient care worldwide.’

Heart arrhythmias are often treated with procedures targeting irregular heart rhythms. This year, EPLive will highlight a more efficient approach combining two treatments—Atrial Fibrillation (A Fib) and Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion (LAAO)—into a single procedure for A Fib patients at higher risk of stroke. By addressing both the abnormal rhythm and the common stroke risk source, doctors can reduce the number of procedures required, shorten procedure time, and lower complications, making patient care safer and more efficient.

EPLive 2026 will consist of four sessions: A Fib ablation cases, Ventricular Tachycardia (VT) ablation cases, Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) closure cases and devices, including new technologies. These sessions will feature a mix of live and recorded cases from TCAI and leading electrophysiology centres in Belgium (AZ Sint-Jan Brugge; UZ Brussel), Canada (Vancouver General Hospital), Colombia (International Arrhythmia Center at Cardioinfantil Foundation), Italy (Centro Cardiologico Monzino), and the US (Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix; Cleveland Clinic; Houston Methodist; Kansas City Heart Rhythm Institute; Massachusetts General; MedStar Health; Montefiore Einstein; Mt. Sinai Hospital; St. Bernard’s Heart and Vascular Center; UC Health Center; UCLA Health; University of Pennsylvania; University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center).

The conference will also focus on several objectives, including: identifying processes to reduce complications and improve patient safety during A Fib ablation and other heart arrhythmias; demonstrating understanding of the latest evidence and guidelines for arrhythmia management using new technologies; applying approaches that maximise new technologies to optimise clinical outcomes; identifying processes to leverage new technology integration and develop safer procedures; and identifying ways to reduce complications and enhance safety during complex cardiac device extraction.

Alongside Dr Natale, EPLive will feature presentations from several TCAI physicians, including course directors Amin Al-Ahmad, M.D., Luigi DiBiase, M.D., Dhanunjaya “DJ” Lakkireddy, M.D., John Allison, M.D., Khaled Awad, M.D., Mohamed Bassiouny, M.D., David Burkhardt, M.D., David Burkland, M.D., Robert Canby, M.D., Joseph Gallinghouse, M.D., Rodney Horton, M.D., Patrick Hranitzky, M.D., and Jason Zagrodzky, M.D.

Attendees will earn up to 14.5 Category 1 Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA) credits from the American Medical Association (AMA)™.

The Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute houses North America’s leading robotic electrophysiology centre. Opened in 2019, the 72,000-square-foot facility includes six advanced electrophysiology labs for treating complex arrhythmias. The institute’s world-renowned physician team is one of the largest electrophysiology practices in the US, providing unparalleled expertise and care.
