Testing Transjabodetabek Block M to Soekarno Hatta Airport Route with 67-Minute Journey
JAKARTA — The Jakarta Provincial Government officially launched the Transjabodetabek SH2 bus route from Block M to Soekarno Hatta Airport on Thursday, 12 March 2026.
Kompas.com tested the new route, departing from Block M Terminal heading towards Soekarno Hatta Airport. The departure from Block M was scheduled for approximately 09:55 Western Indonesian Time aboard the Metrotrans vehicle.
The bus is equipped with overhead racks for luggage storage to prevent baggage from shifting during the journey. The journey to Soekarno Hatta Airport commenced when the fleet turned towards Asean Bus Stop heading towards Senayan. Despite heavy traffic conditions observed around Block M at the time, travel proceeded smoothly towards Petamburan in central Jakarta.
Before entering the Slipi 1 Toll Gate, Transjabodetabek stopped at five designated stops: Senayan Roundabout 2, FX Sudirman, Gelora Bung Karno 2, DPR MPR 1, and DPR MPR 2. Throughout the journey, the fleet travelled at a moderate speed or maximum of approximately 50 kilometres per hour, which appeared to explain the bus’s operation in the left toll lane.
Heavy traffic was again observed at the curve of Professor Dr Sedyatmo Toll Road heading towards Pantai Indah Kapuk, with large trucks and pickup vehicles travelling closely alongside the orange-coloured bus. However, traffic congestion eased as the vehicle approached Soekarno Hatta Airport, particularly after exiting the toll at Cengkareng Gate.
The fleet subsequently turned onto Cengkareng Golf Club Road, passing through at least seven stops before arriving at the final destination, the Airport Railway Station.
