Testimony from Ciracas Residents in East Jakarta Flooded During Eid

Heavy rain and the overflowing river caused flooding in nine RW areas in Ciracas Subdistrict, East Jakarta, since Saturday (21/3). The flooding occurred after high-intensity rain hit the area from 17:00 to 19:00 WIB. Observations by CNNIndonesia.com showed that the water height was still around 1 metre in RT 004/RW 05, Rambutan Ward, Ciracas Subdistrict, on Sunday (22/3) at 09:55 WIB. Ciracas Subdistrict Head, Panagaran Ritonga, said the flooding was due to the high volume of water from upstream in the Cimanggis area, Depok, which caused the Cipinang River to overflow. Four kelurahan traversed by the Cipinang River in Ciracas were affected by the flooding, namely Cibubur, Kelapa Dua Wetan, Ciracas, and Rambutan.
