Jakarta (ANTARA) – Tesla posted revenue of US$28.05 billion (equivalent to Rp507.2 trillion) in the third quarter of 2026, relatively unchanged from the same period a year earlier.

Arena EV reported on Friday that Tesla’s GAAP operating profit fell by 43 per cent to US$787 million (equivalent to Rp14.2 trillion), amid expansion in autonomous technology and robotics.

The Model 3 and Model Y remained Tesla’s main contributors to production and deliveries. However, the company’s financial results showed that increased business activity had yet to translate into year-on-year revenue growth.

Tesla recorded free cash flow of US$1.53 billion, while capital expenditure reached US$4.73 billion during the quarter.

The Robotaxi service began carrying passengers in Austin, Texas, using the Cybercab on 3 September 2026. The company also said cumulative driverless Robotaxi journeys had approached two million miles.

In Europe, Full Self-Driving (Supervised), marketed as Tesla Assisted Driving, has been approved in nine European Union countries.

Tesla said more than 100,000 customers in Europe had used the technology, covering a total distance of more than 160 million kilometres.

Beyond passenger vehicles, Tesla is also expanding its industrial operations. Large-scale production of the Tesla Semi has begun in Nevada, while the Megafactory in Texas has started operating.

The third-quarter performance highlights two contrasting trends at Tesla: largely stagnant revenue and declining operating profit, as the company seeks to expand its autonomous vehicle, robotics and commercial electric vehicle businesses.

These developments will be important in assessing Tesla’s ability to sustain the performance of its core business while financing the development of new technologies.
