Jakarta (ANTARA) - Tesla is reported to be introducing its Grok artificial intelligence (AI) system to Tesla Model Y and Tesla Model 3 vehicles in Australia.

The chatbot is claimed to be capable of providing accurate and insightful responses to various questions whilst assisting drivers in setting travel destinations, adjusting routes, and identifying points of interest through voice commands.

According to Drive on Friday (local time), Tesla confirmed that the rollout will be conducted in phases, starting with vehicles equipped with Hardware 3 (HW3), followed by vehicles with Hardware 4 (HW4).

Eligible vehicles must utilise an AMD processor, have internet connectivity, and run software version 2025.26 or newer to access all Grok functions, except the navigation feature, which requires version 2025.44.25 or newer.

Tesla stated that Tesla Model S and Tesla Model X are also compatible with Grok.

Grok, which was launched in 2023, was developed by xAI and integrated into the social media platform X, both of which are operated by Elon Musk.

Once installed, Grok can be activated via a button on the steering wheel of the Tesla vehicle.

Tesla stated that the inclusion of Grok AI has begun and will be rolled out in phases. Customers will receive notification through the Tesla mobile application when their vehicle is ready for the update.
