Terrorist gets 14 months

JAKARTA: Another terrorist suspect was sent to prison on Wednesday for 14 months by the Central Jakarta District Court for using a false identity card.

Furqon Abdullah, alias Hamam Abdurrohman, was found guilty of using a false name and birthplace on his identity card when he was in Ambon, Maluku, for five months in 2001 during the sectarian conflict.

His sentence will be reduced by the 10 months he has spent in detention.

Furqon is one of the four Indonesian students arrested in Karachi, Pakistan, in 2003, including Gun Gun Rusman Gunawan, the brother of regional terrorist suspect Hambali. --JP
