JAKARTA – Lisnawati, the biological mother of Nizam Syafei, has filed a protection request with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) after reporting that she has received multiple threats over the past several days.

The request follows the death of Nizam, whose death is suspected to have resulted from violence inflicted by his stepmother. The victim allegedly sustained multiple injuries after being forced to drink hot water.

Lisnawati’s legal representative, Krisna Murti, stated that his client had received messages and calls from unknown numbers containing threats.

“The point is that we want to file a report, because our client in recent days has received many unclear WhatsApp messages or phone calls. So to avoid high risk, we decided to file with LPSK in accordance with our legal mandate. This way our client can also have peace of mind,” said Krisna Murti, Lisnawati’s lawyer, at the LPSK on Friday (27 February 2026).

Krisna explained that the messages Lisnawati received contained threats warning her not to speak extensively about her son’s death. These threats were sent via WhatsApp from unknown numbers.

“The threats say things like ‘Where do you live?’ and ‘Don’t talk so much,’ that sort of thing,” he explained.

According to monitoring by Kompas.com, Lisnawati arrived at the LPSK office at approximately 10:00 WIB accompanied by her legal team. They waited in the reception area before making an official report.

Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Rieke Diah Pitaloka, was present to accompany Lisnawati during the reporting process.
