Terrifying Moments as Debt Collector Stabs Lawyer in Tangerang During Vehicle Seizure
A lawyer named Bastian Sori (40) was stabbed by a group of people suspected to be debt collectors in Bencongan village, Kelapa Dua sub-district, Tangerang regency. The victim was stabbed by the perpetrators who were attempting to seize his Toyota Fortuner car due to unpaid instalments.
The incident was captured in an amateur video and went viral on social media. The video shows two men entering a white car with the license plate B-2540-JUN before speeding away. “Hey, this is… this is a robbery. Please, please, this is a debt collector, a robber… a robber… hey, robber,” a woman shouts in the video, as seen by detikcom on Tuesday (14 February 2026). Another video shows the victim already in a room, sitting and holding his bloodied stomach. “My husband has been stabbed. Police, please, my husband has been stabbed, please… oh,” the victim’s wife cries hysterically. The video caption states that the incident occurred at the victim’s residence in the Karawaci area, Tangerang, on Monday (23 February). It is said that the perpetrators came to the victim’s house to seize his vehicle. However, the victim refused the seizure, arguing that the procedure did not comply with legal regulations. This led to an argument which escalated into a stabbing.
Police Investigate In response to the incident, the Chief of the South Tangerang Police, AKBP Boy Jumalolo, said that the Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Tangerang Police had conducted a crime scene investigation. The police have also questioned several witnesses. “Several witnesses have been questioned in order to take action and arrest the arrogant debt collectors,” said Boy Jumalolo, as reported by Antara. In addition, Boy Jumalolo also visited the victim, who was lying in hospital receiving treatment for the stab wounds at the Tangerang Regency General Hospital. “We will take firm action against the group of debt collectors who are causing unrest in the South Tangerang Police area,” he said.
