Terrifying Moment Iron Fence Falls from Tomang Flyover After Trailer Truck Accident
A truck transporting wire mesh fencing overturned and tilted on the Jakarta-Tangerang (Jaker) Toll Road, precisely on the Tomang Flyover heading towards Priok. The iron fencing subsequently fell.
The incident, reported on Wednesday morning (24/6/2026), resulted in severe congestion around the location. Traffic flow from Kebon Jeruk heading towards Tanjung Priok or Cawang via the Janger Toll Road was impassable.
“The Tomang Toll Gate from Kebon Jeruk towards Priok/Cawang is temporarily closed due to the handling of an accident involving a trailer vehicle carrying wire mesh fencing that overturned and tilted on the Tomang Flyover towards Priok,” stated Jasa Marga via its X account.
The accident was being handled by officers at the time. Traffic was diverted to the Tomang traffic light arterial road.
From circulating video footage, long queues of vehicles could be seen snaking along the Tomang flyover. Heavy goods vehicles dominated the traffic. Several trucks were forced to stop on the Tomang flyover. Traffic was at a standstill due to the accident.
The iron fencing was seen falling from above. The spilled load of iron fencing ended up on the road.
Lengthy congestion occurred as a result of the overturned truck accident on the Tomang Flyover. The evacuation process has since been completed and the toll gate reopened.
“(Tomang Toll Road traffic) has been reopened, earlier there was an evacuation of spilled (material) from the accident on the Tomang Flyover,” said Director of Traffic for Polda Metro Jaya, Chief Commissioner Komarudin, in a statement to detikcom on Wednesday (24/6/2026) at 11.35 WIB.
Meanwhile, seen from the Traffic Management Centre (TMC) Polda Metro Jaya’s X account, the wiremesh carried by the truck was scattered onto the road below the toll road. The spilled material covered the road.
From photos uploaded by TMC Polda Metro Jaya, a number of police officers were seen at the location handling the accident. In addition to the Tomang flyover, police also secured the arterial road below. The congestion occurred due to the traffic closure resulting from the trailer truck accident.
“West Jakarta Traffic Unit officers are closing traffic flow heading towards the Tomang Flyover towards Grogol, West Jakarta, due to a single-vehicle truck accident. Traffic flow is being diverted below,” wrote TMC Polda Metro.
