Terrifying Drug Lord Manhunt: Officer Aipda Yudhie Killed, Two Policemen Missing

A member of the Katingan Police narcotics unit, Aipda Yudhie Perdana Putra, died during a raid on a drug dealer in Tumbang Kalemei Village, Katingan Tengah District, Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan. The Director of Drug Crimes at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, explained that the incident occurred on Wednesday evening (1/7) when the unit acted on a tip-off regarding the suspected circulation of methamphetamine in the village. Eko stated that the investigation led to a target with the initials BIO, a known repeat offender in narcotics cases. A total of 12 personnel were deployed for the operation. The police split into two groups with the first team conducting the arrest at the target’s house, while the second team stood by at another location as support.

During the arrest, the target was successfully detained. However, the situation escalated when several people inside the house and local residents fought back using sharp weapons such as machetes. The mob grew increasingly aggressive, attacking with sharp weapons and homemade firearms. As the situation spiralled out of control, officers attempted to save themselves while calling for reinforcements. Several members were forced to swim across a river and take cover in the forest to escape the mob’s fury. Aipda Yudhie was later found dead from sharp weapon injuries. Aiptu Sumaryanto and Bripda Nopandri Ramadhana are still being searched for by a joint team. Eko expressed his condolences for Yudhie’s death in the line of duty and assured that the National Police would provide full support to the Central Kalimantan Regional Police and Katingan Police in handling the case, including the search for the two missing officers. He added that all narcotics eradication operations would be evaluated to ensure personnel are fully prepared for any eventuality in the field.
