Terra Drone CEO Demanded 2 Years in Prison Over Fire That Killed 22 People
Jakarta, VIVA - The President Director of Terra Drone Indonesia, Michael Wishnu Wardana, has been demanded a two-year prison sentence in relation to a fire incident that caused 22 people to die. “We request the panel of judges to rule that the defendant Michael Wishnu Wardana has been legally and convincingly proven to have committed a criminal act,” stated the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Central Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office, Daru Iqbal Mursid, on Monday, 11 May 2026. The prosecutor also requested that the panel of judges declare the defendant guilty of committing a criminal act that resulted in the death of others due to his negligence. In addition, the JPU requested that the defendant be sentenced to two years’ imprisonment, and that the defendant remain in custody. “To declare that the defendant Michael Wishnu Wardana be sentenced to two years’ imprisonment, minus the period of arrest and detention already served,” Daru added. The prosecutor mentioned that the defendant Michael Wishnu Wardana is charged as regulated and punishable under Article 474 paragraph (3) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code. Furthermore, the JPU stated that the defendant’s actions fulfil the provisions regulated and punishable under Article 188 of the Criminal Code, which governs criminal acts due to negligence (carelessness) that cause fire, explosion, or flood and endanger the lives of others or public safety of goods.
