Terra Drone Boss Disappointed with 2-Year Prison Demand in Fatal Office Fire Case
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The President Director (CEO) of PT Terra Drone Indonesia, Michael Wishnu Wardhana, is said to be disappointed with the two-year prison sentence demanded against him for the office fire that killed 22 people.
Michael Wishnu’s lawyer, Triana Seroja Dewi, stated that her client hopes to be cleared from the office fire case.
“Mr Mike (Michael Wishnu) is actually a bit disappointed. Yes, with the demand (of two years),” Triana said at the Central Jakarta District Court, Kemayoran, on Monday (11/5/2026).
Triana conveyed that there should be proportional accountability between Michael Wishnu as the tenant of the Terra Drone building and the building owner.
In this regard, the legal team refers to Law No. 28 of 2002 on Building Construction.
Triana also mentioned that Michael Wishnu hopes to be demanded the lightest criminal penalty or even acquitted.
“Yes (his hope) is to be acquitted or the lightest possible,” Triana said.
Previously, in the indictment reading session at the Central Jakarta District Court on Monday, the public prosecutor (JPU) demanded Michael Wishnu Wardhana with a two-year prison sentence.
The JPU stated that Michael Wishnu has been proven legally and convincingly guilty of committing a criminal act due to his negligence that resulted in the death of others, or violating Article 474 Paragraph 3 of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code (KUHP) as in the first indictment of the prosecutor.
The JPU also requested that Michael Wishnu remain detained.
In the demand, the JPU revealed aggravating factors in Michael Wishnu’s position in the PT Terra Drone fire case.
His actions are deemed negligent in maintaining employee safety, resulting in the deaths of 22 PT Terra Drone Indonesia employees.
Meanwhile, the mitigating circumstance is that Michael, as the defendant, has been cooperative throughout the trial process.
