Terra Drone Boss Apologises, Promises Scholarships for Children of Fatal Fire Victims
The President Director of PT Terra Drone Indonesia, Michael Wisnu Wardhana, has apologised to the families of the victims of the fire at PT Terra Drone’s building. Michael personally shook hands with the victims’ families and promised to establish a scholarship team for the victims’ children.
Michael conveyed this at the Central Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (15/4/2026). Michael stated that the fire incident has also been a heavy burden on his heart.
“I wish to express my condolences and the deepest apologies for this incident. I also want to convey that this has indeed brought sadness to us as colleagues, and since that day, it has carried such a heavy burden on our hearts due to the loss of our colleagues,” said Michael Wisnu.
Michael said his side is trying to alleviate the burden on the victims’ families. He hopes the victims’ families will forgive him.
“In light of this empathy, we are indeed trying to lighten the burden for all of you, but please understand that we have limitations. However, our great hope is that besides forgiving us, I, representing PT Terra Drone Indonesia, and we do not wish to disturb your peace in the future, especially if you have all come to terms with it, we do not want to interfere,” he stated.
Michael promised to form a scholarship team for the victims’ children who are still in school. He also promised that communication regarding compensation will continue and be improved.
“However, if there are any needs in the future that we might be able to fulfil, please communicate them. Currently, it has crossed my mind again to rally a scholarship team for the families left behind if they have children,” said Michael.
“And for compensation, communication will continue, and for you, Madam, we will improve the communication because so far we have been contacting her husband, we will improve it and also want to bridge it, and especially I am here to apologise if there has been any discomfort or mistake that you have experienced,” he added.
Previously, the President Director of PT Terra Drone Indonesia, Michael Wisnu Wardhana, was charged with negligence in preventing, reducing, and extinguishing the fire that occurred at PT Terra Drone’s office building in Central Jakarta. The fire resulted in the deaths of 22 PT Terra Drone employees.
The fire at PT Terra Drone’s office building occurred on Tuesday (9/12/2025). Prosecutors stated that the building was used as a storage place for PT Terra Drone’s business goods, including lithium polymer drone batteries type 6s 30,000 mAh, which had only one main door without any emergency stairs.
The PT Terra Drone office building consists of 7 floors, with each floor connected by access stairs and 1 lift unit, with the building dimensions approximately 16 metres long and 9 metres wide. The general construction of the building includes a concrete flat roof with an iron frame rooftop, gypsum ceiling with iron frame, brick walls with iron frame, and ceramic floors.
Prosecutors stated that when the fire occurred, the employees had difficulty extinguishing the initial sparks because there were no fire extinguishers. The fire then grew larger, resulting in 22 PT Terra Drone employees becoming victims.
Prosecutors charged Michael Wisnu with violating Article 474 paragraph 3 or Article 188 of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code.
