Tensions Escalate: Iran Strikes US Base in Bahrain

Military tensions between the United States (US) and Iran have escalated once again. Iran is reported to have launched an attack on a US base in Bahrain. According to AFP news agency on Thursday (11/6/2026), Iranian media reported that Iran had attacked the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, following a US strike in an area near the Strait of Hormuz. “In this wave of military drone strikes, communication antennae and Patriot system radar facilities of the Fifth Fleet were targeted,” Mehr and Fars news agencies posted on Telegram. Air strike warnings were issued in Bahrain, and residents were urged to “stay calm and head to the nearest safe place,” the interior ministry of the Gulf state said, as seen on its X account. The US had previously launched strikes on Iran, with explosions heard near the Strait of Hormuz. Citing AFP, Iranian media reported explosions in the southern region of the country near the Strait of Hormuz after Washington acknowledged conducting a defensive strike. Explosions were heard in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island, and the towns of Minab and Sirik. Iranian sources reported enemy projectile attacks in Qeshm and the towns of Kargan and Sirik.
