Tens of Thousands of Passengers Take Advantage of Train Ticket Discounts in Daop 2

Purwakarta (ANTARA) - Tens of thousands of passengers have taken advantage of train ticket discounts implemented by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) in Operational Area 2 Bandung during the 2026 school holiday period.

Kuswardojo, Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 2 Bandung, stated in Purwakarta on Wednesday that the 30% fare discount programme applies to all commercial economy class train journeys. The programme is part of an economic stimulus provided by the government to increase public mobility during the school holiday period.

He noted that the promotion is valid for travel from 20 June to 5 July 2026. Public enthusiasm for the discount programme has been high. Based on data as of Monday (22/6) afternoon, a total of 47,878 passengers had utilised the fare discount programme from all stations served by departing trains in Daop 2 Bandung.

The number of passengers taking advantage of the programme equates to an occupancy rate of 73.2 percent of the total capacity provided. He mentioned that the train fare discount programme serves as an opportunity for the public to enjoy more economical, safe, comfortable, and punctual travel during the school holiday season.
