TENNIS CHAMPION:

Indonesia's unseeded Andrian Raturandang won the third series of the Satelindo Indonesia Satellite Circuit after beating second seeded Alexei Gavrilov of Russia in yesterday's final 0-6, 6-3, 6-4 at the Senayan tennis complex.

Andrian (above) who is being groomed for the 19th SEA Games here next month, bagged US$812.5. He was the only Indonesian to cruise to the semifinals and beat top seeded Jurek Stasiak of Australia to reach the final berth.

But Andrian, who partnered with Suwandi, failed to win the men's doubles title after losing to Nicholas Yeates/Paul Hanley of Australia 6-3, 7-6 (7-0).

With his victory in the third series, Andrian has a greater chance to join the national squad for the Games despite his bad performances in the two previous series. (yan)
