Ten-vehicle crash at KM 93 Cipularang, two dead
The accident occurred on the Cipularang Toll Road at KM 93 towards Jakarta, on Thursday, 5 March at 20:18 WIB. The crash involved ten vehicles and temporarily made the carriageway impassable. Two people died and four were seriously injured. In a written statement, the toll road operator PT Jasamarga said evacuation is still being carried out by on-site personnel.
According to initial statements from on-site officers, the incident resulted in two fatalities and four people with serious injuries. All evacuated victims were taken to Radjak Purwakarta Hospital for further treatment.
Officers from Representative Office 3 of Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad (JMT), the operator of the Cipularang Toll Segment, were at the scene together with the Road Patrol, rescue teams, tow crew, ambulances, and Mobile Customer Service (MCS).
By 20:59 WIB, one lane was passable, and by 21:43 WIB, two lanes were passable again for road users. As of now, the cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Police.
“Jasa Marga apologises for the inconvenience experienced during the evacuation process,” said Jasamarga.
