The Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, announced that additional toll road sections will be opened to reduce congestion at several points on national roads during the Eid holiday travel period. “During the Eid holiday travel and return period in 2026, ten additional toll road sections with a total length of approximately 291 kilometres will be opened,” Dody said in a written statement on Sunday, 15 March 2026.

One of the roads to be opened is a partial functional section on Section 3 of the Ciawi–Sukabumi Toll Road spanning 5 kilometres, running from the Cibadak/Parungkuda Interchange to Karangtengah Access, Sukabumi Regency. The opening of this section is being undertaken jointly by the Ministry of Public Works and PT Trans Jabar Tol (TJT), the toll road operator for the Ciawi–Sukabumi section (Bocimi).

The functional section of Section 3 of the Ciawi–Sukabumi Toll Road will be opened from 14–29 March 2026. The opening of this section is expected to help ease traffic congestion at several locations including Cibadak Market, Cikidang Intersection, Cibadak/Ratu Intersection, and Pamuruyan Bridge.

During this period, the Ministry of Public Works will ensure that road users using the functional toll section will not be charged a toll fee.

The functional section will operate from 08.00 to 17.00 West Indonesian Time. Operating hours will continue to be evaluated regularly with relevant agencies and can be adjusted based on traffic conditions in the field. This functional section is intended for road users making continuous journeys from the Bogor direction towards Karangtengah and vice versa.

It should be noted that the section cannot be accessed by vehicles from the Parungkuda Toll Gate towards Karangtengah Access or vice versa.

The functional section is only intended for Class 1 non-bus vehicles with a maximum height of 2.1 metres and a maximum speed limit of 40 kilometres per hour. The Ministry of Public Works stated that the functional section has been constructed with concrete pavement, equipped with traffic signs, safety barriers, operational vehicles, field personnel, and portable toilet facilities.

The Bocimi Toll Road has a total length of 54 kilometres. To date, 27.25 kilometres of toll sections have been operational, consisting of Section 1 (Ciawi–Cigombong) spanning 15.35 kilometres, which has been operational since 2018, and Section 2 (Cigombong–Cibadak) spanning 11.9 kilometres, which became operational on 6 August 2023.

The existence of Section 3 of the Bocimi Toll Road is estimated to reduce travel time from Cibadak to West Sukabumi from approximately one hour to approximately ten minutes. This section also serves as an alternative route for road users heading to Sukabumi and Cianjur.
