Ten Fires Break Out Across Tangerang Regency in a Single Day

A number of fires broke out in Tangerang Regency, Banten. The objects ablaze were rubbish and cogon grass on open land.

“Ten fires on open land or cogon grass and rubbish occurred throughout today in Tangerang Regency,” according to a statement from the Operations Control Centre (Pusdalops) of the Tangerang Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) on its Instagram account @bpbd.kabtangerang on Thursday (23/7/2026).

The fires began in the morning. As of 16:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB), ten fire incidents had been recorded at various locations across Tangerang Regency.

The Tangerang Regency BPBD reported that almost all firefighters in the regency had left their stations to extinguish the fires.

“The fires are predominantly rubbish and open land or cogon grass fires. Hardly any firefighters are staying at their respective stations. Officers are working together to help other station areas,” it said.

The following are the locations of today’s fires in Tangerang Regency:

• Rubbish fire at the Kosambi Centre, East Kosambi Village, Kosambi District

• Rubbish fire at Bitung Junction, Curug Wetan, Curug District

• Rubbish fire on Gili Miring Road, Kampung Rahayu Village, Teluknaga

• Land fire in Sindang Sono Village, Sindang Jaya District

• Land fire on Kampung Bugel Road, Mekar Jaya Village, Sepatan District

• Land fire in Munjul Hamlet, Cileles Village, Tigaraksa

• Land fire in Cikasungka Village, Solear District

• Land fire at a warehouse in Telagasari Village, Cikupa District

• Land fire in Pagedangan Udik Village, Kronjo District
