The construction of 163 temporary housing units (huntara) in Lubuk Sidup Village, Sekerak Subdistrict, Aceh Tamiang Regency, is expected to be completed soon.

This was stated by the Head of the Post-Sumatra Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Acceleration Task Force (Satgas PRR), Muhammad Tito Karnavian. He explained that physically, the huntara is ready for occupancy, with the electricity network already installed and awaiting activation. Meanwhile, clean water needs are being prepared through the construction of boreholes by BNPB.

“This is the huntara built by the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure (Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono), 163 units for the people of Lubuk Sidup. We see the location is very good, with elevation. Electricity is already connected, just needs to be switched on. For drinking water, clean water is being provided using boreholes from BNPB,” Tito said during his inspection of the huntara site on Saturday (4/4).

Satgas PRR targets that all supporting facilities, including clean water and electricity activation, can be completed within the next 10 days. After that, the community will be allowed to occupy the housing as an initial step to start a new life that is more decent and safe.

Not only the construction of housing, the government has also distributed various supporting aids for the affected community. The aid includes meal money of Rp15,000 per person per day, economic aid of Rp5 million per family, and household furniture aid of Rp3 million, aimed at maintaining the sustainability of life.

In total, the progress of huntara construction in three provinces affected by hydrometeorological disasters also shows significant achievements. From the total planned construction of 19,135 huntara units, 17,084 units have been completed or equivalent to 89 percent overall progress.

This achievement affirms the Satgas PRR’s commitment to accelerating comprehensive post-disaster recovery, not only from the physical side but also from the social and economic aspects of the affected community.
