Tempo Wins Best Reader Revenue Strategy Award
Tempo has won the Best Reader Revenue Strategy award at the Digital Media Awards (Asia-Pacific) 2026, organised by the World Association of News Publishers (WAN-IFRA), or the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers. In that category, Tempo secured the Gold ranking.
The award was received by Tempo’s Company Secretary, Jajang Jamaludin, at the event held in Manila, Philippines, on Tuesday, 28 April 2026.
“An independent editorial stance and impactful investigative coverage have proven to build reader trust, and that trust can be converted into support through subscriptions,” Jajang said via a short message on Tuesday, 28 April 2026.
Tempo employs a subscription strategy by introducing Tempo Plus. In 2025, Tempo’s reader revenue grew by 44.89% year-on-year.
Tempo recorded 11 million monthly users accessing Tempo.co. The largest number of users come from Indonesia, the United States, and Singapore.
Jajang hopes this award will boost the editorial team’s motivation to produce investigative coverage. “And encourage the growth marketing team to be more creative in rallying reader support,” he said.
