Tempo to Enter AI-Based Information Business
PT Tempo Inti Media Tbk will launch an artificial intelligence (AI) platform that aggregates all data in the form of information, photos, and events recorded in reporting since Majalah Tempo was established in 1971. Director of PT Tempo Inti Media, Wahyu Dhyatmika, stated that the AI platform will use a subscription-based business model. “The target is corporations and business-to-business. It will be launched this year,” Wahyu said after the public presentation of PT Tempo Inti Media’s 2025 fiscal year book at the Tempo Building, Palmerah, West Jakarta, on Tuesday, 12 May 2026. According to Wahyu, the AI-based information business presents a promising opportunity for Tempo. As a media outlet that has been operating for more than half a century, Tempo’s information archives and reporting hold high value for researchers, companies, and various other stakeholders. Wahyu explained that the platform’s mechanism is similar to AI services like ChatGPT and the like. Users simply input a prompt or question, and the system will present information drawn from Tempo’s reporting database since its first publication in 1971. In addition to launching the AI platform, this year Tempo is also preparing a special student subscription package. For a fee of Rp47,000 per month, students can access all of Tempo’s digital reporting for a full three years. The programme will be implemented through collaborations with several universities. Students wishing to obtain this subscription package simply need to register using a university email with the .ac.id domain. Through this initiative, Wahyu said Tempo is indeed targeting young readers with enormous potential. He targets the student subscription package to help increase the number of Tempo digital subscribers to 100,000 by 2027.
