'Tempo deserved to win'

I was happy to read in Kompas of Nov. 22 that the Tempo
magazine's legal victory had been upheld by the high state
administrative court.

The banning of Tempo magazine last year attracted a great deal
of public attention. The high administrative court has shown
moral courage in upholding the earlier ruling of the state
administrative court in favor of the magazine.

I am also convinced that, if the case goes to the Supreme
Court, another awaits Tempo. However, other considerations may
have some influence.

My congratulations to the five judges who presided over the
high administrative court hearing. They have made legal history.
Tempo deserved to win. May it soon find its way again to its
readers.
