Temblor rocks Palu city
PALU, Central Sulawesi: An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the
Richter scale rocked Palu city on Wednesday morning, causing
panic in the capital of Central Sulawesi province.
Following the eight-second temblor, the residents fled their
houses for safety.
The epicenter of the temblor was located on the west coast of
the neighboring regency of Donggala, according to a local
official at the Geophysics and Meteorological Agency (BMG).
No fatalities or damage were reported in the incident, said
Frets Abbast, the secretary to the Central Sulawesi Disaster
Management Task Force. -- JP
