Although several food commodities have experienced price increases during Ramadan 2026, these increases are considered reasonable. Nevertheless, the Temanggung Regency Government in Central Java will strive to address this by holding an Affordable Food Market (GPM) in 20 sub-districts and once at the regency level.

This was conveyed by the Assistant for Economic and Development Affairs of the Temanggung Regional Secretariat, Manda Kartiko, to reporters on Thursday (February 26).

“We are looking at market projections and the potential of local farmers, and Temanggung Regency is in a safe condition. There have been some price increases, but they are still within reasonable limits. In addition, we are planning to hold an Affordable Food Market (GPM) in 20 sub-districts and one at the regency level,” he said.

Previously, this week, the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) of Temanggung Regency held a High-Level Meeting (HLM) involving various sectors related to the holy month of Ramadan and preparations for Eid al-Fitr 1447 H.

This HLM was held to strengthen cross-sectoral synergy in maintaining price stability and the availability of essential goods, maintaining order and security, and preventive measures that can be taken in anticipation of the National Religious Holiday (HBKN).

The Regional Secretary of Temanggung Regency, Tri Winarno, asked all stakeholders and related parties to continue monitoring the availability of goods and prices of essential goods during Ramadan and in the lead-up to Eid al-Fitr.

In addition to discussing prices and the availability of essential goods, Manda also explained other supporting preparations, including anticipating traffic congestion and areas prone to accidents, 24-hour health services through PSC 119 and its network, and repairs to road infrastructure on several major roads. This program is the result of collaboration with the Merah Putih Cooperative, modern retailers, and local business actors.
