Temanggung Regent: Tobacco Regulation Review Must Involve Regional Governments

The Temanggung Regency Government is conducting a review of tobacco-related issues, including tar and nicotine levels and the standardisation of cigarette packaging, as part of the formulation of derivative regulations for Government Regulation Number 28 of 2024, and insists that regional governments must be involved. According to Temanggung Regent Agus Setyawan, the involvement of regional authorities is essential to provide input based on actual conditions within the community, as well as to consider the interests of tobacco farmers, farm labourers, cigarette factory workers, and all stakeholders in the tobacco sector.
