Temanggung Regent Notes Shift in Consumption from Pertamax to Pertalite

Temanggung Regent Agus Setyawan has noted a trend of shifting fuel consumption, particularly among two-wheeled vehicles, from the non-subsidised Pertamax to Pertalite in the region. In a statement in Temanggung, Central Java, on Tuesday, Agus said that based on information from Pertamina, the supply and distribution of fuel in the area remains under control, especially subsidised Pertalite, which is deemed sufficient to meet public needs following the increase in demand due to the consumption shift. “Based on the information we have received, the stock of subsidised fuel in Temanggung Regency is still in a safe condition. There is indeed a shift in consumption patterns from Pertamax to Pertalite, especially for two-wheeled vehicles, but supplies have been maintained so far,” he said. Nevertheless, he urged the public to purchase fuel according to their needs and to use subsidised fuel wisely so that its availability is maintained. For context, the subsidised fuel quota available for Temanggung Regency reaches 84,665 kilolitres per year, or approximately 7,000 kilolitres per month, and is declared sufficient to meet public needs. He stated that the local government continues to coordinate with Pertamina to ensure smooth distribution and prevent scarcity at the consumer level. Regarding government operations, he mentioned that the budget for fuel for official vehicles remains within the established ceiling. However, all regional apparatus organisations have been asked to economise and manage fuel use more effectively and efficiently. He said this step is taken through the selective management of official vehicles according to the needs of official duties, so that government services continue to run optimally without adding to the regional budget burden.
