Temanggung Regency readies 38 nutrition service units for construction
Thirty-eight Nutrition Service Fulfilment Units (SPPG) spread across several sub-districts in Temanggung Regency, Central Java, are in the process of being prepared for construction, while 87 SPPG are now operational in the regency. “Currently, 38 SPPG are still in the construction preparation process. This stage includes planning, technical coordination, and the fulfilment of various prerequisites before physical construction can commence,” said Temanggung Regency Secretary Tri Winarno in Temanggung on Wednesday. Additionally, one SPPG is undergoing a survey process as part of the location verification and programme implementation readiness stage. On institutional administration, he said five SPPG are still awaiting a decree as the legal basis for operations. Meanwhile, eight other SPPG are still in the process of completing the administrative requirements for a Hygiene and Sanitation Eligibility Certificate to ensure health and sanitation standards have been met. Regarding supporting infrastructure, Tri said three SPPG are still awaiting the results of wastewater treatment plant construction before they can proceed to the next stage. “The most significant progress can be seen at the operational stage, where 87 SPPG have entered the operational phase and are ready to provide services in line with the objectives of the community nutrition fulfilment programme,” said Tri. He added that with the ongoing construction process, administrative completion, and fulfilment of supporting facilities, it is hoped that all SPPG still in the preparation phase can soon become operational so that the programme’s benefits can be felt more widely by the community.
