‘From the statements of witnesses and the head of the Criminal Investigation Unit and the team, they moved quickly to locate the suspect. Alhamdulillah, within less than 10 hours last night the suspect had been secured. He was planning to flee toward Wonosobo,’ Temanggung Police Chief AKBP Zamrul Aini said.
Zamrul also noted the suspect briefly attempted to end his life by jumping from a bridge. The attempt was thwarted and K was brought to the police station for processing.
Police also disclosed the motive. K and DR had separated for two years. The head of the Reskrim, Iptu I Komang Mahendra Deputra, said DR refused K’s invitation to return to living under one roof. ‘According to statements from witnesses and the suspect himself, the victim did not want to live together any longer, did not want to be with him again. Therefore the offender mounted a motorcycle and carried out the assault that caused death,’ Komang said.
