Temanggung (ANTARA) - The Communication and Informatics Office (Dinkominfo) of Temanggung Regency, Central Java, continues to implement strategic measures to protect children or Generation Z from various digital risks in the era of rapidly advancing technology. Head of Dinkominfo Temanggung, Gotri Wijianto Wuriatmojo, in Temanggung on Sunday, stated that in the midst of a fast-paced digital era, technology has become an inseparable part of Indonesian society's life. However, he said, for the world of education and families, the presence of digital technology often raises concerns, ranging from risks of misuse to exposure to inappropriate content for children. "To address these challenges, Dinkominfo Temanggung is intensifying the enhancement of digital literacy to the remotest villages through the Ruang Digital Masyarakat (Rudimas) programme," he said. In addition, he said, Dinkominfo is also providing education to schools and parents so that they can guide children in using the internet competently, wisely, and responsibly. He stated that good digital literacy is key to enabling children to utilise technology positively. "We encourage and support the use of technology wisely and prudently. That's why we carry out several activities, the first being InCakap (smart, active, creative, and productive internet) in schools, educating children on using the internet actively, creatively, and productively," he said. Through these various efforts, he said, it is hoped that children can obtain the best benefits from digital technology developments while avoiding negative impacts in the virtual world.
