Temajuk Sambas cross-border post ready for BNPP inauguration on 21 August

The Temajuk Cross-Border Post (PLB) in Paloh District, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan, which directly borders Sarawak, Malaysia, is ready to be inaugurated by the Head of the National Border Management Agency (BNPP) on 21 August 2026.

“We want to ensure all preparations on the ground are running well, so that the inauguration of the Temajuk PLB can proceed smoothly and provide benefits for the community,” said Sambas Regent Satono in Sambas on Sunday.

Satono said his administration had conducted a joint inspection with the Sambas Regency Regional Border Management Agency (BPPD) on Saturday afternoon to ensure the readiness of the location and the various series of activities ahead of the Temajuk PLB inauguration.

According to him, the presence of the Temajuk PLB is an important moment for communities in border areas who have long faced limited access in and out of Indonesia and Malaysia.

Satono said the existence of the PLB is expected to encourage community economic growth while strengthening border area activity, including tourism potential and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

“The construction of the Temajuk PLB is not merely about presenting a national border gate, but marks the beginning of the opening of various new opportunities for the community,” he said.

He stressed that the Sambas Regency Government is committed to making the border area a safe, productive and competitive front porch of the nation.
