Jakarta – Telkomsel has successfully won two awards at the Asian Telecom Awards 2026: Telecom Company of the Year and Technology Innovation of the Year. This achievement demonstrates Telkomsel’s consistent commitment to delivering relevant innovation for customers whilst contributing to the advancement of Indonesia’s digital industry.
The awards programme evaluates strategy, implementation, and real impact on customers and the broader ecosystem, serving as a key indicator of operator reputation in Asia.
Telecom Company of the Year: AI for More Reliable Networks and Responsive Services
Telkomsel has implemented over 100 AI and machine learning use cases across network operations, customer service, sales, and IT automation. The results are substantial: the Autonomous Network system helps predict and rectify potential disruptions in real-time, reducing downtime duration by up to 70% and accelerating incident response times by over 40%. This has made streaming, gaming, working, and other digital activities significantly more stable for users.
On the customer service front, AI-powered automation utilising intelligent virtual assistants Veronika and Ted has slashed resolution costs by 78% whilst improving customer satisfaction.
Technology Innovation of the Year: Secure Verification Without OTP, First Integrated with Firebase
Telco Verify 2.0 represents the world’s first SIM-based verification system integrated with Google Firebase Authentication, enabling instant and automatic app login whilst protecting against OTP interception, SIM swap fraud, and account takeover risks. This solution strengthens security for banking, fintech, e-commerce, and other digital services whilst aligning with the GSMA Open Gateway global initiative to standardise network capabilities for developers.

Through Telco Verify, Telkomsel provides carrier-grade authentication to protect users whilst strengthening the digital ecosystem including banking and fintech sectors.
