Telkomsel restores network services after M7.7 earthquake in NTT

Telkomsel is continuing to restore communication services following the magnitude 7.7 earthquake that shook the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) region.

VP Area Network Operations Jawa Bali Telkomsel Nugroho Adi Wibowo said in a statement in Denpasar on Sunday that of the total 735 Telkomsel sites in Flores, 623 sites, or around 85 percent, have returned to normal operation.

As of Sunday (16/8/2026) at 11.00 WITA, Telkomsel’s network condition in Flores showed significant improvement.

“Telkomsel extends its sympathy and prayers to all communities affected by the magnitude 7.7 earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara,” said Nugroho.

Amid the recovery process, Telkomsel’s core network infrastructure continues to operate properly. Backbone routes and backup links are also maintaining service continuity despite disruptions to a number of network transport routes.

Nugroho explained that Telkomsel also recorded that around 99 percent of home internet customers in Flores can still enjoy services. Recovery efforts continue for areas that are still affected by disruptions.

To help the public stay connected during the emergency response period, Telkomsel is providing a 3 GB Emergency Package priced at Rp1 with a seven-day validity period.

Telkomsel, together with Telkom Group, local government, regulators, PLN, and related partners, continues to deploy resources to accelerate the recovery of communication networks in affected areas.

These efforts are being made so that the public can continue to communicate with family, obtain important information, and support the emergency response and post-disaster recovery process.

The company urged the public to obtain official information regarding service developments through the Telkomsel website, the MyTelkomsel application, social media @telkomsel, Call Center 188, or GraPARI.

Telkomsel assured that it will continue to accompany the people of East Nusa Tenggara during the post-earthquake recovery process by maintaining the reliability of communication services.
