Telkomsel Launches ChatGPT and Perplexity Bundles for School and University Students, Pricing Revealed
Telkomsel has introduced two premium artificial intelligence (AI) bundling packages to support learning activities for school and university students in Indonesia.
The two products, ChatGPT Go Bundle and Perplexity Go Bundle, are the result of Telkomsel’s collaboration with OpenAI and Perplexity.
According to Ario Pudianingrat, Manager of Simpati Beyond Telco Product Growth and Innovation at Telkomsel, AI usage has become increasingly prevalent among school and university students.
Ario stated that AI tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity are widely used to help find more personalised and contextual information.
‘Through this bundling, we aim to provide more affordable access to premium AI services for Telkomsel customers, including school and university students,’ Ario said during the ‘AI as a Creative Partner’ talkshow held at Telkom University Campus 1 Jakarta on Tuesday (26 May 2026).
The ChatGPT Go Bundle offers a combination of Telkomsel data quota with a ChatGPT Go subscription.
Telkomsel claims this collaboration is the first in Southeast Asia between a telecommunications operator and ChatGPT Go service.
With this package, customers gain access to GPT-5 with higher message limits, AI image generation features, increased file and image uploads, and longer conversation memory compared to free accounts.
The package is suitable for school and university students for research, assignments, and studying.
Additionally, content creators can use the service to generate caption ideas, articles, AI images, and video scripts.
Office workers and SME operators can also utilise the AI service for document summarisation, presentation creation, brainstorming, and promotional copywriting.
Simpati and Halo customers can purchase the package via the MyTelkomsel app starting at Rp50,000.
The price includes 3 GB of dedicated ChatGPT data, a two-month ChatGPT Go subscription, and internet packages up to 100 GB.
Additionally, customers can redeem 1,000 Telkomsel Points for ChatGPT Go access.
