Telkomsel introduces digital learning ecosystem in seven schools on Flores Island
Telkomsel seeks to prove that geographical limitations are not a barrier to improving education quality. Denpasar (ANTARA) - Telkomsel has introduced a digital learning ecosystem in seven schools on Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara, through its CSR programme Telkomsel Jaga Cita: Belajar Tanpa Batas, to expand access to education and strengthen digital literacy in rural and 3T regions. VP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility, Abdullah Fahmi, stated in Denpasar on Monday that Telkomsel believes more equitable learning access begins with understanding. “Through Telkomsel Jaga Cita: Belajar Tanpa Batas, we aim to provide tangible support from devices and connectivity to a digital learning ecosystem so that students and teachers in Flores can learn with greater confidence, safety, and impact,” he said. The programme targets more than 1,750 beneficiaries, including students, teachers, and the school ecosystem. He explained that various integrated supports have been prepared to support the teaching and learning process, starting from providing devices and learning facilities such as laptops, projectors, teaching aids, and other supporting needs according to the schools’ requirements. In addition, Telkomsel is providing connectivity support through starter packs and Telkomsel Orbit services or Fixed Wireless Access to help internet access in the school environment. The programme also offers free access for six months to various digital learning platforms, namely Ilmupedia for academic strengthening and exam practice, Kuncie for learning and competency development, and Skul.id+ for school management digitalisation. Not only that, Telkomsel is also activating learning sessions, competitions, and digital literacy education to encourage more independent and responsible learning habits. The Belajar Tanpa Batas programme is implemented in seven schools on Flores Island, namely SMKN 3 Komodo and SMAN 2 Komodo in West Manggarai, SMKN Bung Ruteng and SMA Budi Darma Cancar in Manggarai, SMAN 2 Soa in Ngada, SMK Karsa Mandiri in Ende, and SMK Nawa Cita Mego in Sikka. The programme is carried out in stages, starting with assessment and baseline in April 2026, followed by kick-off and main activation on 6-7 May 2026, coinciding with National Education Day. This is then followed by mentoring and online learning until August 2026, as well as programme impact evaluation in August-September 2026. To strengthen learning quality, Telkomsel is also collaborating with Gasing Academy to introduce the GASING (Easy, Fun, Enjoyable) method, created by Yohanes Surya, as an effective and proven numeracy learning approach. This collaboration is expected to strengthen students’ logical and analytical thinking skills as an important foundation in utilising digital technology in the future.
