Telkomsel Empowers South Sulawesi Students to Win at IndonesiaNEXT
Makassar, South Sulawesi - PT Telkomsel has supported students from South Sulawesi, including Andi Alya Inar Putri from Hasanuddin University, in being named Best Hustler at IndonesiaNEXT 202．The title of Best Hustler IndonesiaNEXT 2026 is part of a digital talent development programme organised by Telkomsel. Additionally, Nur Hisma from Universitas Negeri Makassar secured a place among the top 24 best national digital talents.
“We are proud that students from South Sulawesi are able to compete and demonstrate their competence at a national level,” said Magdalena Irawati Ovi, Telkomsel’s Mobile Consumer GTM and Channel Partnership Manager for the Sulawesi Region, in a statement from Makassar on Tuesday.
The achievements of Andi Alya Inar Putri and Nur Hisma prove that digital talent from Sulawesi possesses great potential to become part of Indonesia’s future digital ecosystem.
Under the theme “AI Driven Digital Talents”, the programme equips students with artificial intelligence (AI) competencies, industry experience, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to produce digital solutions relevant to the needs of society and the business world.
“By serving with all our hearts, we hope our efforts through IndonesiaNEXT can open wide opportunities for the younger generation to help advance Indonesia,” she added.
Since its commencement in April 2026, IndonesiaNEXT has been joined by 8,916 students from various universities across Indonesia. Through a series of selection stages, training, competency certification, and a digital hackathon, the programme filtered the top 24 digital talents, divided into eight teams comprising Hacker, Hipster, and Hustler roles.
“For me, this achievement proves that students from South Sulawesi are capable of competing and demonstrating their capacity at a national level,” said Andi Alya, the student from Hasanuddin University.
Each team combines three digital product development roles: the Hacker as the technology developer, the Hipster as the user experience designer, and the Hustler as the product manager and sustainability model lead.
Prior to the Summit, participants attended an offline bootcamp from 1–3 September 2026 to study Telkomsel’s AI ecosystem, product development processes, cross-role collaboration, professional ethics, data protection, and presentation techniques, while gaining direct exposure to a technology industry working environment.
At the IndonesiaNEXT Summit 2026, the eight best teams presented solutions evaluated based on problem understanding, user needs, prototype quality, and implementation feasibility and sustainability. Subsequently, nine top finalists—comprising three Hackers, three Hipsters, and three Hustlers—presented their competencies, contributions, leadership, impact record, and visions for the future of Indonesian technology.
The solutions presented by the finalists addressed various pressing societal issues, ranging from mental health and sales force competency enhancement to waste management, confidence building through AI coaching, and the optimisation of the food and fisheries sectors through AI-based technology.
Based on the decision of a jury panel consisting of industry experts, Telkomsel named Scenaria as the Best Team, comprising Atha Azzahra Khairun Nisa (Brawijaya University) as Hipster, Wahyu Oktiansyah (Telkom University) as Hustler, and Putera Nami Shiddieqy (University of Sumatera Utara) as Hacker.
