Telkomsel commits to business with impact on society and environment

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Telkomsel has reaffirmed its commitment to conducting sustainable business while delivering positive impacts on society, data protection, and environmental preservation through its ‘Jaga Cita, Jaga Data, and Jaga Bumi’ initiatives.

“Telkomsel must continue to contribute to our surroundings, our environment, and our future generations. It is impossible for Telkomsel to progress alone without striving to advance the environment in which it operates,” stated Telkomsel President Director Nugroho during a press conference in Jakarta on Friday.

Telkomsel’s commitment to creating a broad impact on society and the environment is realised through the company’s three sustainability pillars: Jaga Cita, Jaga Data, and Jaga Bumi.

Through the Jaga Cita focus, Telkomsel serves 156.1 million mobile customers and 10.3 million IndiHome B2C customers, supported by more than 293,000 Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) across Indonesia, including addressing more than 360 blank spot villages throughout 2025.

Telkomsel is also actively nurturing approximately 90,000 students, MSMEs, communities, and young talents through various digital-based social programmes.

Under the Jaga Data pillar, Telkomsel continues to strengthen governance through information management systems standardised with ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and ISO 25010 to ensure reliable data and cyber protection.

Meanwhile, through Jaga Bumi, Telkomsel aims to minimise its carbon footprint and ensure service operations remain available whenever needed.

By 2025, 361 Telkomsel BTS units have utilised renewable energy from solar panels and micro-hydro power. All electronic waste has been managed through recycle, reuse, or refurbish schemes, and all SIM card packaging now uses eco-friendly paper materials.

Carbon offsetting efforts are further supported by the planting of more than 12,000 mangrove trees throughout 2025.

Telkomsel also continues to implement various initiatives to strengthen the resilience of physical assets related to service continuity—such as BTS, TTC, and operational buildings—against the threats of climate change.

“We are committed to continuous innovation and improvement so that our contribution to the environment continues to grow, both in quantity and quality,” said Nugroho.
