Telkomsel and Unhas Collaborate to Develop Talent in Eastern Indonesia
Makassar (ANTARA) - Telkomsel is collaborating with Hasanuddin University (Unhas) to develop talent in Eastern Indonesia through the ‘Thrive Goes to Universitas Hasanuddin’ programme, which empowers the younger generation to be better prepared for the professional world.
To strengthen this collaboration, Telkomsel and Unhas signed a cooperation agreement for independent study programmes for students, featuring the Virtual Internship Programme (Virtuship) and the DPI (Domain Private Internet) Package for access to internal applications, held in Makassar on Tuesday.
“The presence of Thrive at Unhas brings Telkomsel closer to talent in Eastern Indonesia, provides an insight into the industrial world, and opens space for students to recognise various opportunities to prepare themselves after graduation,” said Dudun Abdul Falah Sidiq, Vice President of People Development and Management at Telkomsel.
Dudun noted that the company believes potential can emerge from anywhere, with perspective, experience, and an understanding of the local context serving as unique strengths.
Through this collaboration, Telkomsel is expanding its Virtuship Programme outside of Java for the first time, with Hasanuddin University becoming the second campus targeted by Telkomsel, following Telkom University.
“The workload can be converted into semester credits, and those who graduate will receive a certificate plus the opportunity to enter a talent pool for future career opportunities,” Dudum explained.
The Director of Student Affairs at Hasanuddin University, Prof. Suhasman, appreciated the collaboration with Telkomsel, which provides students with direct insight into industrial developments, technology, and the dynamics of the working world.
“This is important to broaden students’ perspectives while encouraging them to continuously develop their competence, communication skills, and collaboration so they are better prepared to meet the needs of the future workforce,” he said.
Through Thrive, Telkomsel, driven by its spirit of ‘Serving with All Our Heart’, aims to build young talent across various regions of Indonesia to provide equal access for students to prepare for the professional world, delivering real value and impact to both students and the university.
On this occasion, Telkomsel also hosted a career talk show themed “Technology Continues to Grow: What Career Path Should We Take?”
