Telkomsat Develops Internet Merah Putih Service to Promote Equal Digital Access Across the Archipelago
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Telkom Satelit Indonesia (Telkomsat) continues to adjust and strengthen its service portfolio in line with the evolving dynamics of national connectivity needs. As part of this adaptive approach, Telkomsat has introduced Internet Merah Putih (IMP) as a development of its satellite broadband internet service that is more relevant to contemporary demands.
The launch of Internet Merah Putih represents a service evolution from its predecessor product, Mangoesky, which has played a role in expanding satellite internet access across various regions of Indonesia. With growing demand for high-speed, stable and flexible connections to support the public's digital activities, Telkomsat has adjusted its product to ensure the service remains competitive and sustainable.
"This service development is part of Telkomsat's efforts to continuously adapt to increasingly dynamic market needs. Internet Merah Putih is designed to meet customer expectations for satellite internet services that are faster, more stable and more flexible, whilst still reaching all parts of Indonesia," said Andri Yunianto, Commercial Director of Telkomsat.
Internet Merah Putih is an unlimited satellite broadband internet service supported by High Throughput Satellite (HTS) technology. The service offers speeds of up to 50 Mbps. The concept is designed to provide a more comfortable internet experience at competitive rates, without concerns about connection interruptions, whilst reaching all parts of Indonesia, particularly remote areas.
In its satellite broadband internet service implementation roadmap, Telkomsat has set the transformation of Mangoesky into the Internet Merah Putih (IMP) service effective from 1 January 2026. This policy is being implemented in a measured manner with due regard for the interests of existing customers. Active Mangoesky customers will be given a transition period until their contracts expire and will be directed to migrate to Internet Merah Putih as a replacement product with improved service quality.
This move is part of Telkomsat's strategy to strengthen satellite internet services that are adaptive to technological developments and customer needs, whilst supporting equal digital access across the archipelago. Through Internet Merah Putih, Telkomsat is committed to continuing to deliver reliable and sustainable connectivity for the Indonesian public.
