PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, through its subsidiary Telin, will continue to expand its international submarine cable business. The company is targeting connectivity expansion into Africa and Latin America.

Telkom Indonesia’s President Director, Dian Siswarini, said the company has a corridor roadmap through the Indonesia Cable Express (ICE) project. There are three main corridors currently connecting Asia, the Pacific, and Europe.

“This includes increasing route diversity between Indonesia and Singapore, stronger connections with North Asia and Australia, as well as alternative routes to Japan and the United States,” Dian said in her keynote opening the Bali Annual Telkom International Conference (BATIC) 2026 in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Wednesday (26/8/2026).

At the same time, expansion will also be carried out on three new corridors, namely Europe-Middle East-Africa, Transatlantic, and US-Latam (United States-Latin America), targeting markets in Africa and Latin America.

Dian explained that this route diversity will provide network resilience and connect Indonesia to various computing centres, content hubs, and global innovation centres.

This roadmap is driven by various applications that are shaping future demand surges, from artificial intelligence (AI) technology to the gaming industry. The goal is to create integrated strategic corridors so that Indonesia can become a gateway between the Asia-Pacific market and the broader global digital economy.

On the occasion, Dian also outlined three main agenda points for the Telkom Group going forward. First, strengthening network capacity, resilience, and capability.

Second, adopting AI technology, automation, and advanced programming into the network to transform connectivity into a smarter platform.

Finally, strengthening collaboration. “Because the next wave of growth will not come from just one company, one technology, or one country acting alone,” Dian concluded.
