TelkomGroup transports 1,924 mudik participants using 27 buses and 3 ships
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) has transported 1,924 mudik participants in the Mudik Gratis Bersama TelkomGroup 2026 programme to support the smooth flow of Lebaran mudik for 1447 Hijriah.
This programme forms part of the “Mudik Nyaman Bersama BUMN dan Danantara” initiative titled “Mudik Aman Berbagi Harapan”, marked by a departure ceremony at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Jakarta, on Tuesday (17/3/2026).
Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono stated that the high mobility of the public during Lebaran 2026 reflects the strong mudik tradition in Indonesia.
“Based on a survey by the Ministry of Transportation, this year is estimated to see around 143.9 million mudik trips across Indonesia. The government continues to ensure the readiness of infrastructure and various modes of transportation so that public travel can proceed safely, comfortably, and smoothly,” said Agus.
He also appreciated the involvement of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Body (BP BUMN), Danantara, and state-owned companies in organising the free mudik programme, which is seen as helping to reduce the use of private vehicles, particularly motorcycles.
At the same time, TelkomGroup released mudik participants from the Satria Mandala Museum, Jakarta, using 27 eco-friendly buses and three sea vessels.
The fleet consists of 15 Telkomsel buses, 10 Telkomsel Poin buses, and two Telkom Solution-Indibiz buses serving various routes to destinations on Java and Sumatra, such as Tasikmalaya, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Malang, Lampung, and Palembang.
Telkom President Director Dian Siswarini, in an official statement on Wednesday, said that the Lebaran momentum is always accompanied by increased mobility and public communication needs, making network readiness crucial.
“TelkomGroup ensures network and service readiness so that the public can remain connected smoothly amid rising mobility and digital needs. We have increased network capacity, prepared mobile BTS at several mudik route points, and set up emergency posts supported by more than 13,700 personnel across Indonesia,” said Dian.
In addition to providing free transportation, mudik participants also receive various travel support facilities such as goodie bags containing essentials, merchandise, and pocket money.
TelkomGroup also emphasises the use of eco-friendly fleets as part of the company’s commitment to supporting sustainability principles and emission reduction.
To support service smoothness during the Lebaran period, TelkomGroup has increased network capacity to 60.7 Tbps and conducts intensive traffic monitoring.
Additionally, 22 TelkomGroup RAFI Emergency Posts have been prepared, operating 24 hours in various regions of Indonesia.
These efforts are aimed at ensuring reliable digital connectivity services amid the surge in public activities during the Idul Fitri holiday.
On the other hand, TelkomGroup has also distributed corporate social responsibility (CSR) assistance, among others through the Telkomsel Poin and Telkom Berbagi programmes, in the form of device support and internet connectivity for 50 madrasahs, schools, and pesantrens.
Additionally, social assistance has been given to 1,000 orphans, 1,000 underprivileged community members, and people with disabilities, with a total value of Rp2 billion.
Through these various initiatives, TelkomGroup hopes to make a real contribution to providing safe and comfortable mudik journeys while ensuring the public remains connected during the Idul Fitri celebrations.
Dian added that this programme is also part of the company’s commitment to providing broad benefits to the community.
“Representing all TelkomGroup ranks, we wish you a Happy Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah, and we beg forgiveness for any birth and inner shortcomings,” said Dian.
