Jakarta (ANTARA) - TelkomGroup supports the steps taken by the Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) of the Republic of Indonesia, Meutya Hafid, in realising a digital space that is safe for the younger generation in line with Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 on the Governance of Electronic System Providers in Child Protection (PP TUNAS).

The President Director of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, Dian Siswarini, in her statement on Tuesday, said that today’s university graduates are not only required to excel academically but also to possess integrity, resilience, and concern for the nation’s progress.

“We view today’s graduates not merely as job seekers, but as agents of change, individuals capable of creating solutions, opening opportunities, and delivering real impact for society and, of course, for the nation,” said Dian.

In her speech, Meutya emphasised the importance of digital literacy, technology ethics, and collaboration among all stakeholders in creating a safe, healthy, and equitable digital space for the younger generation as mandated by PP TUNAS.

She also conveyed that the current challenges in the digital space are not only related to the acceleration of technology but also the increasing misinformation and various risks in cyberspace.

“I need to convey that misinformation is not just a local issue, but a global challenge according to the World Economic Forum 2025. Wherever you are in the future, become guides for digital literacy in your respective regions. The government cannot work alone; we need you to be guardians of truth amid this flood of information,” said Meutya.

TelkomGroup stated its commitment to supporting the implementation of PP TUNAS through strengthening digital security, personal data protection, and the development of safe and responsible digital solutions.

In addition to expanding national connectivity and ensuring cybersecurity in its services, Telkom also provides programmes on digital media ethics education, cybersecurity, and positive utilisation of technology for the younger generation and educational communities in various regions.

Meanwhile, the Telkom Education Foundation is said to play a strategic role in building an integrated education ecosystem from kindergarten to higher education to produce superior digital talents.

On the same occasion, TelkomGroup through Telkom University also reaffirmed its commitment to building a safe digital ecosystem through a declaration on the development of human-centric Safe-AI.

Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Dr. Suyanto, stated that Telkom University is dedicated to creating a safe digital ecosystem through Safe-AI innovations to protect and empower the younger generation.

In this graduation period, Telkom University inaugurated 1,502 graduates consisting of doctoral, master’s, bachelor’s, applied bachelor’s, and diploma graduates.
