Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Meutya Hafid, attended the Open Senate Session for the Telkom University Graduation Period II of the 2025/2026 Academic Year, held at the Telkom University Convention Hall in Bandung on Saturday, 25 April 2026.

On this occasion, Meutya stressed the importance of digital literacy, technology ethics, and collaboration among all stakeholders in realising a safe digital space for the younger generation. This aligns with Government Regulation No. 17 of 2025 on the Governance of Electronic Systems in Child Protection (PP TUNAS).

She viewed the graduation moment as a strategic point to strengthen leadership values, digital ethics, and readiness to face industry challenges. With adaptive and innovative human resources, Indonesia is deemed increasingly ready to achieve the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045.

Meutya added that Telkom University graduates are equipped not only with academic degrees but also with moral responsibility to contribute to building a safe, healthy, and equitable digital ecosystem.

“This knowledge equips you not just to follow the flow of digitalisation, but to boldly take roles as drivers and creators of value, expanding the benefits of technology and strengthening the nation’s competitiveness, especially in the digital field,” she stated.

She also emphasised that current digital space challenges are not only about accelerating technology but also the rise of misinformation and various cyber risks. Therefore, the role of the youth is crucial as agents of digital literacy in society.

“I must convey that misinformation is not just a local issue, but a global challenge according to the World Economic Forum 2025. Wherever you are in the future, become guides for digital literacy in your respective regions. The government cannot work alone; we need you to be guardians of truth amid this flood of information,” she asserted.

As Indonesia’s leading digital telco company, TelkomGroup fully supports the implementation of these government policies, both through service policies and innovations offered to customers and the public. This commitment is realised through strengthening digital security, enhancing the implementation of personal data protection, and developing safe and responsible digital solutions.

In addition to expanding national connectivity and ensuring cyber security in its services, Telkom actively provides various educational programmes for the youth and educational communities in various regions regarding digital media ethics, cyber security, and positive use of technology. These efforts are part of TelkomGroup’s tangible contribution to supporting the implementation of PP TUNAS while encouraging the creation of a healthy and inclusive national digital ecosystem.

As part of its ongoing contribution to human resource development, the Telkom Education Foundation plays a strategic role through an integrated education ecosystem, from kindergarten to higher education levels.

At the primary and secondary education levels, the Telkom Education Foundation instils foundational character, literacy, and initial understanding of digital technology. Meanwhile, at the higher education level, including Telkom University, the focus is on producing outstanding digital talents ready to meet industry needs, driving innovation, and contributing to national digital transformation.

Telkom President Director Dian Siswarini delivered a speech at the Open Senate Session for the Telkom University Graduation Period II of the 2025/2026 Academic Year at the Telkom University Convention Hall, Bandung, on Saturday, 25 April 2026.

Telkom President Director Dian Siswarini also expressed appreciation to the graduates and reaffirmed the corporation’s commitment to participate in producing youth with quality and global competitiveness in the digital era. According to her, today’s university graduates are demanded not only to be academically intelligent but also to have integrity, resilience, and care for the nation’s progress.

“We see today’s graduates not just as job seekers, but as agents of change, individuals capable of creating solutions, opening opportunities, and providing real impact for society and certainly for the nation,” Dian concluded.

As a technology and entrepreneurship-based university, Telkom University is committed to producing the nation’s successors who can actively participate in the national digital transformation ecosystem.
