Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Danantara Chief Technology Officer Sigit Puji Santosa launched TelkomGroup’s Sovereign Digital Technology development at the Danantara Technology Innovation Investment Forum (DTIIF) 2026. He was accompanied by Danantara Managing Director of Strategic Technology Initiatives Irwan Rey, Telkom Director of IT and Digital Kharim I. G. Siregar, and Telkom Director of Strategic Business Development and Portfolio Seno Soemadji.

TelkomGroup is developing four Sovereign Digital Technology capabilities: an AI-ready data centre, AI ModelHub, a National IoT Platform and PaDiSera. The four form part of the company’s efforts to promote independence in the national digital technology ecosystem by strengthening infrastructure, developing AI across sectors and widening market access for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

“Congratulations on the launch of TelkomGroup’s Sovereign Digital Technology. We hope this initiative can continue to develop through sustained collaboration between Danantara, TelkomGroup, state-owned enterprises and other stakeholders, producing relevant innovations that deliver tangible benefits to society and the Indonesian economy,” Sigit said, according to a written statement on Tuesday (27 October 2026).

The launch was part of DTIIF 2026, held from 26 to 28 October under the theme “Investing in Tomorrow: Advancing Technology, Innovation, and Sustainable Growth”. The forum brings together government, state-owned enterprises, investors, industry players and innovators to collaborate on technology development, innovation and strategic investment that support Indonesia’s economic growth.

During a visit to TelkomGroup’s booth, Telkom Director of IT and Digital Kharim I. G. Siregar and Director of Strategic Business Development and Portfolio Seno Soemadji introduced the four Sovereign Digital Technology capabilities, which together form an integrated national digital technology ecosystem.

The AI-ready data centre, developed by operating company NeutraDC, provides the computing foundation for developing and operating various AI models in Indonesia and South-east Asia, with an ambition to expand capacity to up to 1 gigawatt. AI ModelHub, meanwhile, offers integrated access to a range of AI models to support the secure use of the technology while maintaining control over strategic national data.

Separately, Telkom President Director Nanang Hendarno said strengthening these capabilities was part of TelkomGroup’s role in building a competitive national digital ecosystem that is technologically self-reliant.

“Digital independence must be built by mastering the technological foundations comprehensively, from infrastructure and computing to AI development and the deployment of digital solutions that address the needs of strategic sectors. Mastery of technology must also be accompanied by the ability to build an integrated ecosystem, so technology not only enables transformation but also creates added value and strengthens national competitiveness,” Nanang said.

The National IoT Platform, developed by Telkomsel, integrates Internet of Things (IoT) device connectivity and AI-based analytics to support operational efficiency across sectors. With around three million IoT devices already deployed in Indonesia, the platform can be used for a range of purposes, including monitoring, security and productivity improvements.

PaDiSera is a national marketplace established by Danantara and supported by the technological foundations of PaDi UMKM. Since its launch in 2020, PaDi UMKM has enabled more than 190,000 MSMEs to supply the needs of state-owned enterprises.

Telkom’s experience in building digital trading platforms will help support PaDiSera’s operations and expand MSMEs’ access to retail markets.

“TelkomGroup and Danantara want to ensure that the benefits of digital transformation reach all sections of society, including by expanding access to technology and market opportunities for MSMEs to grow and develop in the digital economy,” Nanang said.

“TelkomGroup’s participation in DTIIF 2026 underscores the company’s role in supporting the national digital transformation agenda through stronger infrastructure, innovation and strategic collaboration. By connecting technological capabilities with the needs of various sectors, TelkomGroup continues to promote the use of digital technology that is sovereign, competitive and adds value for Indonesia,” he added.
