TelkomGroup Distributes Rp1.3 Billion in Aid to NTT Earthquake Victims
PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom), together with its operating companies under TelkomGroup, has distributed humanitarian aid valued at Rp1.3 billion (excluding connectivity support) to communities affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The assistance is being delivered in stages and in a coordinated manner to more than ten areas to help meet the needs of residents during the emergency response period and the post-disaster recovery process.
Since the first distribution, TelkomGroup has worked in synergy with Danantara, BP BUMN, BNPB, local BPBD offices, the Ministry of Health, and various other parties to map community needs, coverage areas, and appropriate distribution schemes, so that support can be provided in a measured and targeted manner.
Telkom’s SGM Social Responsibility, Hery Susanto, said that TelkomGroup’s presence in disaster situations is part of the company’s commitment to helping communities recover and resume their activities.
“TelkomGroup is committed to always being present in the community, especially during emergency and disaster situations. The assistance we distribute is a form of care as well as an effort to help meet the basic needs of affected communities. We hope this support can ease the burden of our brothers and sisters in NTT and become part of their recovery process,” he said in a written statement on Monday (24/8/2026).
“In distributing this assistance, TelkomGroup continues to coordinate and synergise with various relevant parties to understand the needs of communities on the ground and identify the support that TelkomGroup can provide appropriately and optimally,” Hery added.
Through the BNPB Halim post, TelkomGroup distributed aid on 18 and 20 August 2026, including basic food packages, household logistics, baby and child supplies, medicines, and hygiene necessities. From these two stages, a total of 3.65 tonnes of aid has been distributed and utilised by communities, especially at evacuation points.
Support was then expanded to a number of areas, including Nagekeo, Reo, Ruteng, Maumere, Bima, Lewur, and South Lambelada. Distribution was carried out in coordination with local BPBD offices and evacuation posts to ensure the aid could be adapted to needs on the ground.
Meanwhile, to reach communities in isolated areas such as Londar on the North Coast, Sarae Naru Village, Macang Pacar District, West Manggarai Regency, TelkomGroup also distributed aid through BPBD Ruteng via sea routes.
In addition to logistical assistance, TelkomGroup also met the needs of communities at evacuation sites through support for communal kitchens, health services, and the provision of clean water.
In Wae Rii District, Manggarai Regency, TelkomGroup supported the operation of a communal kitchen for around 1,100 people, as well as a health post and medicines in Golo Mendo Village. Meanwhile, in Wudi Village, Cibal District, Manggarai Regency, Telkom supported the operation of a communal kitchen as well as the supply of clean water, which is a primary need.
To strengthen health services, TelkomGroup also prepared assistance through the Ministry of Health in the form of laboratory equipment and portable sanitation units, which are planned to be distributed on 27 August 2026.
For TelkomGroup, support for disaster-affected communities does not stop at the emergency response period, but continues as communities enter the recovery phase. Through coordination and collaboration with various parties, TelkomGroup continues to direct support towards relevant needs on the ground, from meeting basic needs to supporting health services and communal kitchen operations.
