TelkomGroup and Huawei Strengthen Digital Infrastructure and Data Centre Operations
Jakarta—PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or TelkomGroup, has entered into a strategic collaboration with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. to strengthen digital infrastructure development and data centre ecosystem through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The agreement was signed at the Mobile World Congress Barcelona on Tuesday, 3 March, by Telkom’s Director of Strategic Business Development & Portfolio Seno Soemadji, NeutraDC Group CEO Andreuw Th.A.F., and Huawei Director Chi Kaichao.
Through this collaboration, TelkomGroup, together with NeutraDC and Huawei, will explore digital infrastructure business development, including strengthening the data centre ecosystem and exploring technologies that support digital transformation.
Seno stated that the collaboration represents part of TelkomGroup’s efforts to strengthen a reliable and globally competitive digital infrastructure foundation.
“The signing of the MoU at the MWC Barcelona event symbolises Telkom’s commitment to continuing its transformation as a world-class digital telco. The strategic collaboration with Huawei will strengthen digital infrastructure capabilities, accelerate innovation in enterprise solutions, and ensure talent readiness in addressing Indonesia’s digital transformation needs,” Seno said in an official statement.
Under the collaboration, Huawei may also consider using NeutraDC’s data centre facilities, including opportunities to place Huawei Cloud availability zones subject to the terms of collaboration and applicable regulations.
Huawei will also share information on the latest data centre technology innovations, such as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) technology, AI-based architecture and hardware, and solutions supporting sustainability and operational efficiency.
Currently, NeutraDC operates the large-scale NeutraDC Nxera Batam data centre facility, which is claimed to be ready to support AI-based digital infrastructure needs. The facility is located in the SIJORI region (Singapore–Johor–Riau) which offers international connectivity and global operational standards to serve the regional digital ecosystem.
Andreuw stated that the collaboration with Huawei opens opportunities for NeutraDC to deliver more measurable and efficient data centre infrastructure.
“We believe this synergy will strengthen an increasingly reliable and globally competitive digital ecosystem,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chi Kaichao stated that Huawei welcomes the strategic collaboration as part of efforts to support the development of a more advanced digital ecosystem.
“This collaboration is expected to open new opportunities in the development of cloud and digital infrastructure ecosystem that supports the acceleration of digital transformation in Indonesia,” he said.
In addition to the MoU signing, during the MWC Barcelona agenda Telkom also held strategic meetings with Huawei to discuss digital infrastructure development, large-scale data centres, next-generation networks, and strengthening Telkom’s B2B ICT capabilities.
This collaboration aligns with TelkomGroup’s vision of accelerating the development of Indonesia’s national digital ecosystem, strengthening industry competitiveness, and supporting Indonesia’s digital economic transformation.
