Telkom University Student Nadira Found Safe After Week-Long Disappearance

Police have successfully located Nadira Az Zahra (21), a Telkom University student who had been missing for a week since Tuesday (30/6), and she is in good health. Bandung Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Anton stated that Nadira was found in Bandung City in the early hours of Monday (6/7). “Alhamdulillah, in the early hours of today, Monday 6 July 2026, Nadira Az-Zahra has been found and has returned to her residence in a healthy condition and is now under the supervision of her family,” Anton said at the Bandung Police headquarters. Anton explained that Nadira was found by a local resident who had received information about the student’s disappearance. He did not disclose the exact location where Nadira was found. “For the reasons, we have not yet been able to ascertain them definitively because Nadira is still not in a condition to be questioned. But later, we may take a more detailed statement regarding why she left her residence,” he said. Anton stated that so far, investigators have not found any indication of a criminal offence in this case. “For now, there is no indication of that, but we are still, because we indeed do not yet have a statement from Nadira, we are still verifying. Perhaps later, after she is able to give a statement, we will conduct a further interview or interrogation to determine whether there is any indication of a criminal act in this incident,” he said. Meanwhile, family representative Budhi Purwana, who was also present at the Bandung Police headquarters, revealed that Nadira was alone when she was found. Budhi explained that when found in the early hours, Nadira was in a state of exhaustion. “According to the account from the person who found her, she was found alone, tired, and then disoriented. This kind person then looked after her and immediately contacted the police, providing temporary care, securing her, and then immediately contacting us,” he said. Regarding the belongings Nadira had with her when she left home, Budhi explained that none of her items were missing. “No, none at all. Everything was intact. The laptop, tablet, mobile phone, bag, and so on were all intact. None of the belongings were missing,” he said. Nadira was reported missing last week. She was last seen by her family when she said goodbye to go to her university from her home in the Ciwastra area of Bandung City on Tuesday (30/6). Nadira is a student of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Smart City Information Systems Study Programme, class of 2025. She is registered as living in the Jingga Residence complex, Mekarjaya Village, Rancasari District, Bandung City. Shortly before disappearing without a trace, she left for her studies wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, black jeans, a cream-coloured headscarf, and carrying a cream-coloured backpack. The bag contained a laptop and a tablet. Nadira also had her mobile phone, which was known to be active when she left home. However, at around 12:30 WIB on the same day, Nadira’s WhatsApp account was deactivated. Since then, the family had been unable to contact her or ascertain her whereabouts.
