Telkom to cooperate with 23 investors

JAKARTA: At least 23 foreign investors are ready to cooperate with state telecommunications company PT Telkom to jointly carry out projects for the publicly listed company from 2002 to 2005, a member of Telkom's board of commissioners announced on Monday.

"The foreign investors are those classified as international businessmen from the United States, Japan, China and Europe," Rahardjo Tjakraningrat said, as quoted by Antara.

Telkom will cooperate strategically in the development of telecommunications projects, he said.

Until 2005, he added, Telkom would continue to develop phones, mobile phones, cable television networks, as well as multimedia and business services.

Telkom allocated Rp 3.625 trillion (US$362.5 million) last year to develop phones, mobile phones and cable television networks as well as multimedia and business services.
